These images were staged in New-Orleans in January 2018 and March 2019 with the participation of the inhabitants of the Bywater neighborhood in New Orleans. I suggested that they play a part in interpreting a local superstition that is no longer in use. With its rich cultural background, the city of New-Orleans has a colorful and unknown folklore. Not so long ago, « gris-gris », philters, divination, rituals to chase werewolves and hurricanes, respect for spirits and traditions were part of everyday life. Through this series, I picture the strong connexion between people and their objects, houses, neighborhood and natural elements. Getting people involved from diverse communities, I intend to bring life back to those strange superstitions, sometimes funny or poetic, which show the cultural diversity of an American city with such multiples stories.
